What a ride this picture has taken me on - it challenged me to grow and to learn new things. That is one of the main ways I see photography as being amazingly personal - it takes us all on our own journey.
It took 100 feet of rope to cover half of her torso...less is not more with rope! I love when the model and photo connect so much, where I can just *feel* that the model was right for the image. I knew that going into this I wanted her to look strong like a warrior, and Sonalii has that perfect body for it...not to mention she is absurdly easy to look at ;-)
I was really feeling like I needed to change the location up a bit, but I never want to shoot anything that is too busy or complicated. I shot this originally in the woods on a path, but decided to take it in a new direction that was far more satisfying for me. It is always fun to experiment...that leads to growth, my favorite thing.
