Description

This picture is #32 in my 100 strangers project. Find out more about the project and see pictures taken by other photographers at www.100Strangers.com
Stan "The Man" is a volunteer conducter on a restored early 20th century train at Thirlmere.
He's pround of his train and knows the numbers of many engines by heart. Doubtless he can spin you a story or two (if you let him) about the railways.
But after 40 years as a banker he's retired now and doing what he loves, spinning a yarn to passengers on the short run up the line and back to Thirlmere
