Description

I spent Saturday evening at a friends house for his birthday and some board games. Left around 1am, and noticed the sky was crystal clear! Not one to miss a photo opportunity, I raced home, grabbed the camera then headed out to the National Park to find a nice dark spot. 4 1/2 hours later I had the necessary source frames to create this photo - my first shot of the Milky way, and my first attempt at astrophotography.
Just what a need, ANOTHER hobby! :)

  • "Hello frend.if u have time can u explain me how u did this photo and what u use to make this photo? i have a canon 400d.U say u make 60frames total.. what u mean ? u combine all 60 frames to make this photo?"
  • " Hi ZeussBdc, Yes, its necessary to combine multiple frames to take this photo unless you are using a telescope with an equatorial mount on it. Most astrophotography photos need a long exposure to capture the right amount of light. The photo above was comprised of 60 frames of 9 seconds each any longer would have resulted in star trails and then combined in DeepSkyStacker to make a single image. Taking photos of anything but the moon has a steep learning curve, but it is well worth it."
  • "ok i got it thx alot frend"
