I was contacted by Bianca Pozzi to take part in a photographic exposition, that would showcase only photos of dogs.

Bianca and Mariana work for a non-governamental organization that is called
S.O.S. Vida Animal (sos animal life). Their goal is to raise awareness about pet adoption (as a better alternative to buying pets), the importance of castration, respect for animal life, etc...
The exposition launched their calendar for 2010.

- cachorrando - that I learned about the puppy mills, where dogs are bred to exhaustion, live in tiny cages, pass on serious genetict diseases... and then, later on... the animals are abandoned by the very people who bought them, when they were cute little puppies. People who buy pets never get to see the "puppy farms". Never see the conditions in which the pets live in.
[hating the world right now mode on]Sometimes I think humankind is doomed, that it has reached a point of cruelty and stupidity never seen before. But I'm very much wrong. Humankind has always been stupid and cruel. It's winter on the Northern hemysphere, and kitties and puppies are being abandoned to die in the blizzards. People see cats or dogs in the streets and beat them furiously. I have taken some shots of stray dogs and cats for the organization and it's the saddest thing.
I just wish people wouldn't get themselves pets if they aren't willing to be fully responsible for another being's LIFE! But then, such people also have kids and we all have seen where this has been led to. [/hating the world right now mode off]

This puppy isn't a stray one. It's Hadouken's. She had 6 puppies this last month. They'll take one last (vacine) shot the coming week and they will be donated. They are the cutest thing.

Bianca e Mariana trabalham em uma ONG chamada
S.O.S. Vida Animal. O objetivo é conscientizar as pessoas sobre a adoção de animais de estimação como uma alternativa melhor à compra de animais, a importância da castração, respeito à vida animal, etc...
A exposição lançou o calendário de 2010 da ONG, com fotos de cachorros. Custa 10 reais. (Quem quiser comprar, é só passar no ateliê da Bianca ou entrar em contato com ela pelo blog.)

- cachorrando - que fiquei sabendo das "fazendas de cachorros", onde se reproduzem à exaustão, vivem em gaiolas, transmitem aos seus descendentes doenças genéticas sérias... e depois, os animais são abandonados pelas mesmas pessoas que os compraram. Pessoas que compram animais de estimação nunca chegam a ver as condições que os pais dos filhotes vivem.
A propósito, esse cachorrinho é um dos seis filhotes da hadouken (nasceram mês passado). Eles têm que receber mais uma vacina e serão doados. Se tiverem tempo, leiam o blog da Bianca. Fiquei sabendo de muita coisa que eu - alienada - não tinha nem idéia. E também, passem no ateliê (DE DOCES!! hmmmm!!!) dela, onde as fotos estão agora sendo exibidas. Fica na Rua Santos, 905 (centro de Londrina).
